Historical City Tour (3h)

Beyond St.Charles Church - the most beautiful baroque church of the city - and Musikverein - home of the Vienna´s Philharmonic Orchestra- onward to the Palace of Schönbrunn. According to your disposition the tour can end at the magnificent Belvedere Palace, former summer residence of Prince Eugene, that houses today the Austrian Galery where you can visit Gustav Kimts most famous painting: The Kiss.

Walking Tour (2h)

A guided tour at Vienna´s historical city center - a World Heritage Site since 1997.
From State Opera across Albertina Square to the Hofburg Castle, former residence of the imperial Habsburg family. Along St. Michaels Square with it´s roman excarvations and the pedestrian area you reach the trademark of Vienna – St.Stephan´s Cathedral. By the way you will see the Artaria-house, the pastry shop Demel, the Plague Column, St. Peter´s church, Stock-im-Eisen, the Anker Clock and more…eventual visit of the dome.

 

The modern city with a panoramic view (3h)

Visit of “Hundertwasserhaus” and “Kunsthaus” (museum of Hundertwasser), further along the Prater and the Ferris Wheel, across the Danube river to the Danube City and Vienna´s International Center, seat of UNO. Through the Danube park towards the Danube Tower and uphill via the picturesque wine village Grinzing to the lookout point at Cobenzl for an overview of Vienna.
Kunsthalle, Museumsquartier, Wien Back at the city the tour goes on to “Museumsquarter”, one off the largest centers of culture in the world. Beside ambicious architecture you find there the MUMOK (museum of modern art), the Leopold Museum, the Museum of architecture, the Dance QuarterKunsthalle, coffee bars, restaurants, bookshops and much more. Nearby is Mariahilferstraße, one of Vienna´s biggest shopping streets.


Jewish Vienna (3h)

Judenplatz, Wien

The history of Vienna is particulary interwoven with the history of her jews.
See the Synagogue, the Museum on Judenplatz with
subterranean rests of the medieval synagogue, the jewish Museum Dorotheergasse, the Holocaust Memorial, the memorial for the victims of the Nazi´s tyranny, Sigmund Freud´s museum and eventually “The stones of rememberance” through Vienna´s 2nd district, the Mazzes Island.

 

Viennese evening

Along the illuminated Ring-Avenue and St.Charles square onto the “Heurigen”, Vienna´s traditional wine taverns. The Heurigen wine, typical Viennese cuisine and traditional music await you there. If desired : visit of Vienna´s 1st Heurigen Show.

Legendary Vienna (2h)

A walk in the old city and it´s medieval lanes. How did the Viennesese live at that time? In what did they believe?
Numerous legends and sagas give answers and will lead us from place to place like

Vienna Woods (4h)

Heiligenkreuz

This trip takes you via Baden, former imperial spa with roman thermea and work-place of Beethoven and Schubert, to St.Helen´s valley at the southern part of the Vienna Woods. You will know the memorial to Crown Prince Rudolf Habsburg, where occured the “Tragedy of Mayerling”. Further on to the Cistercian Abbey Heiligenkreuz from 1133 and then to the Cave of Hinterbrühl, where you visit the biggest subterranean lake of Europe. An alternative would be the visit of the stalactite cave in Alland.
If desired: visit of a traditional wine tavern at Gumpoldskirchen.

Romantic Danube Valley „Wachau“ (8 h)

A full-day excursion, which will show you the beauty of the Wachau. Through this romantic scenery full of history and legends the Danube winds his way past charming old villages and steep vineyards. The old castles tell us about the former importance of this area, one of them -Dürnstein- especially famous, because here King Richard Lionheart was imprisoned, while waiting for his ransom to arrive from England. The heart of the Wachau is the old vine-merchants town Krems. To complete this day of highlights you will visit the magnificent Benedictine Abbey of Melk, a pearl of the Austrian Baroque and the "Cradle of Austria".

Salzburg (12h)

Via the marvelous landscape of the Salzkammergut with it´s alpine lakes you will get to Salzburg. The Birthplace of Mozart is at the same time a World Heritage Site and a jewel of baroque architecture. Whilst the city - walk you will dicover the Mirabell Castle, The houses of Mozart´s and Karajan´s birth, the historical lane “Getreidegasse”, the cathedral, St. Peter´s cemetery, St. Peter´s abbey with it´s magnificent church, the theatres of the Salzburg festival, the horse pond and more…
There are delicious culinary specialities to try as well, like the “Salzburger Nockerl” or the “Stiegl”- beer.

Burgenland (8h)

Bergkirche Eisenstadt, Burgenland, Austria

Only at a few kilometres from Vienna, but yet another world. The province at the east of Austria has a lot to offer.
On Haydn´s traces you will betake to Eisenstadt to visit the mausoleum at “Bergkirche” and Castle Esterházy, his places of activity.
Afterwards walk trough the city till Haydn´shouse.
Furthermore you know see the Puszta. Embedded in an enchanting natural landscape is the largest steppe lake of Europe with reeded banks and a great diversity of birds: the lake Neusiedl, a biospere reserve.
And the Burgenland is also a country of exellent vines. Between the vineyards lays the romantic town of storks Rust. Facility for lunch with gypsy music.
On demand you can enjoy a vine tasting and /or a boat trip on Neusiedlersee at the austrian-hungarian border.
